‘Deeper Underground’ by In Return

I was just sent this link on Twitter of Deeper Underground by In Return and was completely mesmerised by it! Stop what you’re doing and watch…

We have a thing with tunnels. The underground of London is one of the most impressive infrastructures of the world. It’s a network that transports millions of people every day. Some call it hell. We see beauty.

The infinite tunnels pull us in with their symmetry. The ceiling lights guide our eyes to the horizon. The tiles and posters form patterns that please the eye. The echoes of rushing crowds, a flickering light, a train zooming by.

We’ve spent days in the underground looking for the most eye-catching tunnels and made this supercut, capturing the beautiful symmetry underneath the city surface.

Croxley Rail Link Cancelled?

Diamond Geezer strongly suspects the Croxley Rail Link has quietly been cancelled, with no mention of it in TfL’s 2016 Business plan.

There is mention of the Bakerloo line extension, which Sadiq is attempting to fast-track. There is mention of the Northern line extension to Battersea, even if somebody at City Hall can’t spell. And there is mention of the London Overground extension to Barking Riverside, which will unlock the development of tens of thousands of homes. But of the Metropolitan line extension there is no mention at all.

I visited the area last year when going In Search of Network SouthEast where at the time I suggested it wouldn’t be long until the old NSE infrastructure was lost for good. Perhaps it will stick around a little longer after all…

#NightTube Coming To Northern Line

Sadiq Khan earlier announced that Night Tube services on the Northern Line would commence on 18th November.

This of course comes on the day the Jubilee Line starts running 24 hours services on Friday and Saturdays.

So the big questions:
When is a Northern Line service a Night Tube?
Will there be a couple of fresh pocket maps I wonder?
Will there be any other unusual service patterns like the Secret Night Tube to Epping?
Will it be exactly the same as when I took a trip on the new services last month?
