Great Video, was not long ago Chris and I were in Manchester at the exhibition and we were trying to work out Manchester’s railway past. We were desperate to get a glimpse inside the old Mayfield (?) Station. Oly
Ah yes, I’m surprised that building is still standing considering the development that has happened in Manchester city centre over the last couple of decades. It was once suggested that Mayfield would re-open and be combined with Piccadilly to boost capacity but I think this fell by the wayside a few years ago.
Very interesting video. I worked in Manchester 30 years ago and used to use the other Levenshulme station. I thought this route may have been used as part of MetroLink. I also travelled on the prototype DLR vehicles near Reddish. The vehicles were static tested in the old DMU/steam shed at Longsight depot prior to running trials.
