I took this photo just over a year ago of GWR Prairie 4141 on the Epping-Ongar line after buying the camera I now use on most heritage railway trips. I doctored it up a bit in Lightroom, but it still remains one of my most favourite railway related pics I’ve snapped to date!
Great atmospheric shot. Shame the guy in the hi-vis spoils the period look of the photo. heritage railways go to great lengths to recreate a period look with authentic advertising and station ‘furniture’ from the era and then the whole thing is ruined by a hi-vis vest. I’ve complained about this before in my own blog. What do you think? Do you mind him being in the shot or do you think it spoils the overall effect?
