Despite being two separate companies, an underground interchange was provided, with the C&SL’s building exiting into the mainline station itself. It was therefore realised that the extra Leslie Green street level building would not be required and it was soon closed in the early part of the 20th century.

It survives to this day to house essential ventilation and maintenance shafts.
